Wolf Range Cooling Fan
The cooling fan runs while a Wolf oven is hot so that the range's own parts do not overheat. On a dual fuel range, whose oven is electric, it has no switch: it starts by itself and can keep going long after the oven is off. Wolf documents that run-on for its electric ovens; on an all-gas range we check which fan is turning before calling it normal.

Ordinary run-on from a dual fuel oven. After a long or hot bake the fan carries on well past switch-off, and Wolf notes a well-insulated oven can take hours to cool. In an open-plan home the sound travels further than people expect.

Not the cooling fan at all. The convection fan was left selected after the bake, and the hum stops as soon as its button is pressed again.

Normal or a fault
Start with which range you have: a display and an electric oven make it dual fuel, and gas in the oven as well as on top makes it all-gas. On a dual fuel range, give the fan time; it shuts off once the oven is cool enough. On either kind, check that the convection fan has not been left selected. If a fan still runs on a cold oven after the breaker has been switched off and on, that is the point to ring us.

How long should the cooling fan run after I turn my Wolf oven off?

Can I turn the cooling fan off on a dual fuel range?
No. Wolf gives it no switch because it protects the range from overheating, and it stops by itself once the oven has cooled to a safe temperature.
