Dual Fuel Range Control Board
The control board is the electronics that runs the electric oven of a Wolf dual fuel range. On current models it reads the cooking-mode selector bezel, the temperature knob and the touchscreen panel, shows what the oven is doing, and switches the heat — and the door lock during a Clean cycle.

Nothing wrong with the board. A power cut leaves the clock and the control lock needing to be set again, and a blank or frozen screen usually comes back once the breaker has been off for half a minute.

A feature taken for a fault: SAb on the knob display means Sabbath mode, a dark clock means standby power mode, and in most modes the oven switches itself off after 12 hours.
- Sometimes
The board reporting another part. On a legacy dual fuel range, Error 01 means the door lock or unlock switches were not sensed while the lock motor ran, so the fault sits in the lock.
- Rarely
The board, or the link to it. COMM ERR on a legacy range means communication with the oven controller was lost; when a breaker reset will not clear it, we test the wiring and the boards before replacing one.
What it means for the repair
Wolf’s own guide sends any error shown on the panel to a technician; beyond the breaker there is no owner fix. A board is condemned only after power at the range, its connections and the parts it watches have been checked. A replacement is matched to the serial number, and each mode is run before we leave.
Before you call
- Write the exact code or message down, and which oven showed it if the range has two.
- If the knob’s own display is blank, pull the knob off and press it back on — Wolf lists this for a dark knob.
- Switch the breaker off for 20 to 30 seconds, then retest; Wolf gives 20 for current ranges and 30 for legacy ones.
- If the code comes back, stop there and read it to Wolf Repair Kirkland on (425) 699-2400 when you ring.
In Rose Hill kitchens
Much of Rose Hill is newer housing, large homes on compact lots, often with a wide dual fuel range fitted from new. When a winter storm takes the power down, those ranges come back with a blank clock and a lock to reset, and that is the board call we most often settle with a breaker rather than a part.

Does a code on my Wolf dual fuel display mean the control board has failed?
Usually not. The board is what shows the code, but most codes point somewhere else: a door lock it could not sense, a lost connection, or simply a break in the power. Wolf Repair Kirkland, (425) 699-2400, reads the code against your model and tests the part it names before a board is priced.
My dual fuel oven turned itself off during a long cook. Is the board faulty?
Probably not, if it had been on for a long time. Current Wolf dual fuel ovens shut off after 12 hours of continuous use in every mode except Dehydrate and Sabbath, so a slow overnight cook can end on schedule. If it stopped much sooner, or a code came up, note the code before switching anything off.
