Wolf Range Door Gasket
The door gasket is the flexible woven seal between a Wolf range's oven door and the front of the oven cavity, and it keeps the heat in while the door is shut. Depending on the range's age it is fixed to the door or to the cavity's front frame.

A seal worn down by cleaning. Wolf's use and care guides say not to clean the oven gasket, because rubbing or shifting it can spoil the seal, yet in a busy kitchen it gets wiped along with everything else.

A tear in the seal's woven covering, or a tab at one end standing up out of place. A torn gasket is replaced, never patched.

Heat escaping past a gasket that is fine, because the door is out of line or a rack guide is holding it open — both on Wolf's own list of causes.

A seal that has worked loose from where it is held, so the door closes on a slack section instead of pressing on it evenly.
What it means for the repair
A gasket is replaced only once we know the door itself closes square, because a new seal on a misaligned door leaks just as the old one did. We lift the racks and guides out, close the door on the gasket and look along its whole length for gaps before any part is ordered. The new seal is matched to the range’s serial number, fitted all the way round, and checked with the door shut and the oven hot.
Before you call

How do I clean around the gasket on a Wolf oven?
Leave the seal itself alone. Wolf's guides tell owners not to clean the oven gasket, because rubbing or moving it can break the seal. Clean the cavity and the glass as the manual describes and stop at the gasket's edge. If it is already stained or frayed, Wolf Repair Kirkland, (425) 699-2400, can judge whether it still seals.
Can I replace a Wolf oven gasket myself?
We would not. Gaskets differ from model to model, and one that is not seated properly lets heat out and hurts cooking. We order the seal by your serial number and fit it along its full length, but only after checking the door is aligned, so a new gasket is not blamed for an old problem.
